Forest Elementary School fifth graders in Mr. Matthew Peebles class were putting the final touches on their "Book in a Box" projects.

The students were asked to read a book and then create a presentation of the book in the form of a cardboard box.

They had to build a key scene from the book or fill the box with items that represented the book and what it was about.

Some of the books they read included "Charlotte's Web," "Captain Underpants," "Slop, Life According to OG The Frog" and "The Babysitters Club."

Students used a variety of ways to display their story.

For example, some students used different colors of clay to make items such as a log or a tree, while others used dolls and small plastic animals in their presentation.

Some students drew their characters, colored them and taped them into their scene.

The students enjoyed using their imagination to recreate their book in a box and had fun sharing their creations with their classmates.
