The students in Robotics Club at Forest Elementary School have  been having fun learning how to code two different sets of robots.

One of the coding systems they are currently using is called Ozobot, in which different colored markers are used to create paths for "Evo the Robot" to follow.

The robot uses optical sensors to follow the lines, detect colors and respond to code commands. Using block coding, the students had fun creating their own paths and mazes for "Evo" to follow.

Some of the students placed two robots on the same piece of paper and raced them to see which one would finish first.

The students also enjoyed building and coding the SPIKE Lego set. They had the opportunity to build any type of robot they wanted using different parts, motors and sensors.

They then coded their robots to move around, dance and even pick up items.

The students are looking forward to learning more about coding and making their robotics perform even more complex actions.
