First and second graders in the Forest Elementary School Drawing Club were excited to get together and start drawing after the winter break.

Ms. Julian Huvaere, the facilitator of the club, began the drawing lesson by first going over the club's behavior expectations.

After the students collected their art supplies, they were given the opportunity to do a free draw, in which they could choose to draw whatever they wanted.

Student had a fun time showing off their creativity to their classmates and Ms. Huvaere.

The students then received their very own drawing journal, which they will use to draw in every time they meet.

The first and second graders also had a chance to vote on what they would like to draw as a group over the next few weeks.

The students spent time watching a video on how to draw a snowflake beginning with a simple circle.

They had the choice to follow along with the instructional video or freely draw their own snowflake design.

The students are looking forward to enhancing their drawing skills when the club meets next week!
