Over the last three weeks it was the Forest Elementary School fifth graders who took their turn showing off their imagination and creativity in Makers Club.

The club, which meets once a week after school on Thursdays, is facilitated by Library Media Specialist Joanne Zienty and is offered to multiple grade levels over a three week period.

On the first day of the club the fifth graders watched a short film about a student who built his own arcade out of cardboard boxes and other household items.

This provided them with inspiration as to how they were going to design and build their own creations.

Some of the students wanted to make a game, others wanted to design their own creatures and one student wanted to make a costume.

The students started by sketching their ideas on paper and planning out which materials they were going to use.

She added eyes to the cat with a glue gun, making sure that everything stayed in place.

All of the students had an amazing time using their imaginations and showing off their unique creations!
